FAQs About the Pre-Planning Process

Pre-planning your cemetery services offers many advantages, but it’s common for people to have questions about this process. If you’re planning ahead for your burial or cremation at Inglewood Park Cemetery, then keep reading to learn the answers to commonly asked questions that we hear about our pre-need cemetery services.

What if I need my cemetery property before it’s developed?
Your contract with us will ensure that, in the case of need, the undeveloped property will be exchanged for developed property of equal value for no additional cost.

How much will I need to put down?
Inglewood Park Cemetery asks for a minimum of 10% down, and a portion of this will be due at signing. The remainder usually can be paid within 30 days, and we offer financing plans with monthly payment options for up to 84 months. If you’d like to have smaller monthly payments, then consider putting down more of the cost at the time of signing. In addition, if you sign up for automatic withdrawal of your monthly payments, we offer 24 months interest free.

What’s the purpose of a outer burial container?
Outer burial containers are required for all ground burials, and their function is to protect the casket or urn from things like soil weight and moisture. Concrete is porous, so there will be some water seepage, but the vault will prevent the casket from being crushed and allowing the soil above to sink downward.

What are lawn crypts?
Lawn crypts are graves that are sold with the outer burial container already in place.

What if my family needs the property before it’s paid off?
Inglewood Park Cemetery offers a Family Protection Plan at no additional cost. The plan is available to customers who are less than 65 years of age and who sign a contract for cemetery property purchase. We offer a second protection plan for children who are older than 6 months and younger than 18 years. Please contact us for more information.

Inglewood Park Cemetery offers a wide range of products and services to accommodate nearly any budget. If you’d like to learn more about what’s involved in funeral pre-planning, then please contact our cemetery serving the Los Angeles area by calling (310) 412-6500.
