Answers to Your Questions About Pre-Need Planning
Purchasing interment rights in burial space at a cemetery before you and your loved ones need it can save your family from stress and financial hardship at an extremely difficult time. Could pre-need planning be the right choice for your family? Here are the answers to some of the questions you are likely to have.
What happens to my interment rights contract if I pass away before I finish paying for it?
You can protect your family from any disruption caused by this scenario by adding a Family Protection Plan to your purchase. The Family Protection Plan comes at no additional charge and is available to purchasers under the age of 65 when they buy interment rights at Inglewood Park Cemetery. If you have children between six months of age and 17, there is a separate plan available for them. We will walk you through your options to ensure that your family is protected even if you pass away before finishing your payments. If you pass away before your interment space is actually developed, another space in a finished part of the cemetery will be made available.
How do I pay for my cemetery property?
You will need to put 10% of the purchase price down and then begin monthly payments. Monthly payments can be stretched out over multiple years, with up to two years interest-free when you choose ACH payments. Keep in mind that Inglewood Park Cemetery does not offer funeral pre-planning services as part of our pre-need options and your payments cover only the interment rights in the burial space(s) you choose, and any commodities and services you select in conjunction with your burial rights.
Do I need a concrete vault?
Concrete vaults are needed to protect the casket or urn from water and the weight of the soil, which prevents the property from sinking. For ground burial, you will need a concrete vault unless you purchase a lawn crypt, which is a grave that already has vaults in place. We can help you select the right options for your needs.
